LUNITAS 2 is Sebastián Maria’s follow up to his cardinal album LUNITAS (listed as one of the “favorite albums of 2019” by Tiny Mixtapes). LUNITAS is a biennial album series by Maria which is produced using a strict musique concrète dogma - each track is composed and completed within its respective moon cycle using only original field recordings collected within that month. No digital or physical musical instruments are used.

The 13 tracks on LUNITAS II inspire to be sonic portraits for each month and full moon of the year 2020. A mixture of NYC soundscapes, nature and animal reverberations, domestic and public echoes, as well as impromptu vocal performances and monologues are what makeup the raw material of the album.These acoustic fragments are smashed, stretched, mangled and meticulously augmented with effects to harmonize and communicate both conventional and more abstract compositions.
